Potential Graduate Students

You are invited to email Dr. Ryan for more information if you are interested in joining the Functional and Evolutionary Morphology Research Lab as a doctoral or graduate student in Anthropology at Penn State.

Potential Undergraduate Students

If you are an undergraduate student interested in gaining research skills in functional evolutional morphology and bone mechanics, the FEMR Lab may be a good fit for you. To be eligible, students must have a 3.4 GPA or better and be able to commit to nine hours per week for at least three semesters.

Students must be highly responsible, reliable, motivated, and dedicated to conducting accurate and high quality work. Good attention to detail and the ability to carefully follow directions (e.g., complicated protocols for data collection) are also important. Finally, it is important to have the capacity to work independently (while having the judgment to know when to ask for assistance).

If you are interested in becoming an undergraduate research assistant, please apply by emailing Nick Stephens or Sharon Kuo. They will be able to answer any additional questions as well.
