Postdoctoral Scholar

Lily is a graduate student and NSF Graduate Research Fellow in the FEMR lab. Her research interests are mainly in understanding the relationship between bone structure and external factors such as behavior, climate, diet, and disease load. Her dissertation research compares trabecular and cortical bone structure variation within and between several human groups from prehistoric Illinois with different subsistence strategies. Lily has been a teaching assistant for several courses at Penn State including Humans as Primates (ANTH 22), Introduction to Anthropology (ANTH 001), Introductory Biological Anthropology (ANTH 21), Human Osteology (ANTH 410), and Advanced Human Anatomy (BIOL 497). She has also been the primary instructor for Introductory Biological Anthropology (ANTH 21). Outside of teaching and research, Lily is active in developing and implementing educational outreach programs with the Penn State Anthropology Graduate Student Association Outreach Committee. She also enjoys reading, cooking, gardening, and hiking with her dog. Lily has her works on both her ORCID page and her Google Scholar page.
